Overview
This assignment challenged us to create a realistic fruit illustration by using Illustrator's gradient mesh tool. Additionally, we were required to focus on effective layer and sub-layer organization for the pieces of our fruit. To achieve my lemon illustration, I began by bringing in a lemon image as a template layer. I made use of Illustrator's navigator window and swapped between wireframe mode and regular mode throughout my project to check the progress of my mesh points and coloring. It was quite a learning process to create a lemon with smooth color transitions, but I really appreciate the realism that comes from carefully constructed gradient meshes.
